Mobile Radio Empowers Unsigned Artists
Unsigned musicians have begun using a new distribution channel to bypass record labels and earn a larger share of revenue from sales. Andy Cato of Groove Armada has teamed up with O2 in the UK to offer tracks for download to mobile phones.
Ryan at Droxy said it best:
With Ericsson, Motorola, and many other mobile carriers and manufacturers frantically partnering with music services, this will turn into a new form of distribution for artists looking make music AND keep the money that's owed to them. That, my friends, is a revolution.

I read an interesting article about a band that released their song as a RINGTONE before they released it as a song...

If you want to look at the forerunner in music downloading to mobile phones, check out SK Telecom in Korea.
Also, rumour is Motorola will release an iTunes phone any day now. It's been rumoured in the wireless industry for months...

Thanks, Taylor. It's funny you mention the Motorola iTunes phone. That's the only thing that's kept me from purchasing an iPod for the last 4 months. ;)
