McDonald's is paying rappers $1-5 every time a song with a "Big Mac" lyric plug hits the radio.

Update: Check out this McDonalds Drive-Through rap. Too bad these guys didn't say "Big Mac" somewhere in the lyrics.

This recent entry at Electric Relaxation implies Crunk (the hip-hop style AND an "energy drink") is anecdotal evidence that popular culture doesn't really see commercialized hip-hop as somehow compromising its street credibility:

Thanks for the links. I need to try Crunk myself. Madeline Woods speaks the truth, though. None of us are innocent of buying what we see and hear; but where is the line drawn? Product placement is increasing, not decreasing, so the lines won't be drawn any time soon.
