Free, "Open Source" Audio Recording Software, Ardour
For all of you open source freaks out there, Ardour is a free, digital audio recording software programmed by members of an open source community. Its roughly-constructed home page states:
Ardour capabilities include: multichannel recording, non-linear, non-destructive region based editing with unlimited undo/redo, full automation support, a mixer whose capabilities rival high end hardware consoles, lots of plugins to warp, shift and shape your music, and controllable from hardware control surfaces at the same time as it syncs to timecode.
Not too shabby. Perhaps I'll check it out once it's further along... Could Ardour stick it to music editing giants like Linux did to Microsoft?

Ardour is also being ported to MacOSX. It's running, but requires some unreleased software. Hopefully, that'll be cleared up in a couple weeks.
