Audio Tutorials: Read 'Em & Write 'Em
The same gang of creative folks that created all the Rockstar sites, such as PSDTuts, a Photoshop tutorial site, and Audio Jungle, an audio loop and sound effect ecommerce site, has launched the new audio tutorial site, AudioTuts.
It only launched in June, but there are already a few cool tutorials such as "Create a Reverse Reverb Effect", which is one I've actually wondered about in the past. Check it out.
Btw, you can also submit a tutorial of your own and score $150 (assuming it's accepted). Rockstar Sites apparently has a model that's working for them -- pay the massive public to create great content, do some PR, and sell advertising to monetize the incoming traffic. Commercialized crowdsourcing....well, not really, since it's selective. Not too shabby. I can't complain about commercialism as long as the content is solid, and so far, it's off to a good start. :)

Audiotuts is cool.
It really attract you to write something for them since they paying out USD150 per tutorial.
That's a great amount of money. Some new blogs with great content only make pennies.

hey KClau - totally agree. Most blogs ask writers to write smaller, more frequent posts for $3-$6 a pop. AudioTut's approach is a good one -- demand quality content, and pay a premium for it. And so far, the tutorials are very detailed and extensive, which is great. Screenshots included...nice!

What timing. I was just having a conversation with Steve about how to make a quality home recording. I'm jealous of artists such as yourself and others who are at least to some extent 'out there'. I've got 60 songs that only exist when I play them! My goal is to get them 'out there' in some form or another online soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
BTW, this song is a phenominal recording for a one man band - is there any description of how you put it together?

A big recommendation for Audiotuts! Regardless if you are a artist, recording or mixing engineer, always something new to find there in terms of techniques and tips/tricks.
