Lee: They're quite different. Sonar 7 is a recording platform that also has effects, virtual instruments, editing and mastering capabilities, etc. It includes a LOT.
Reason does not include audio recording, but is a very strong virtual instrument software.
I haven't used Fruity Loops, but I understand that it's a very strong piece of loop-generation software, and also serves as a very strong piece of virtual instrument software.
