Band Creates Pre-Release Buzz Through Podcasts
Detroit rock band The Transfer has been able to generate significant online buzz for its album Romantics & Addicts by submitting the single "Down With Everything" to podcast and internet radio stations.
A nice alternative promotion vehicle success story. Unsigned artists -- take notice!

It was only a matter of time before podcasting was used as a way to generate buzz. Have you ever checked into the success of bands on MySpace? Social networking to build band buzz- virtual word-of-mouth.

Yes, MySpace is THE hot topic right now. I wrote a short post about it here:

MySpace beat out social network sites Friendster, LinkedIn, and Spoke, hands down. (though LinkedIn seems to be making a come back). Talk about fun, "sticky" features..!

Wow...thanks for the blurbs guys. I'm acutally the genius behind that promotion and it's helped me a lot actually with getting radio play in general.
Podcasters can be just as important as a small commercial or large college market. Some of the podcasters on i tunes have over 20,000 listeners and the potential is growing every day. Check out the music.

Mike CTW,
Thanks, I'll check out the site. Congrats on the promo. You know a promotion is working well when it's generating more buzz just from that fact that it's already generating buzz! ;) Keep up the great work -- I'm psyched to hear your stuff.
