The Music Industry and Good Causes
It’s nice to see a number of charitable and environmentally friendly efforts being made on the part of various facets of the music industry. Here are few that were recently brought to my attention:
International Day of Peace Concert – Garson Entertainment will be producing the first International Day of Peace Concert on Sep 21 in Geneva, Switzerland, featuring musicians, celebrities, and world leaders. The campaign calls to all to put down weapons for that day.
Sub Pop Goes Green – Sub Pop Records became the first label to purchase Green-e Certified Green Tags through the Benneville Environmental Foundation to support renewable energy.
Indie music against AIDS – Baron Zero’s putting together a compilation of indie music to help raise awareness and funds for AIDS research.
