The Podsafe Music Network, A Great Place to Submit Music
So, I’ve been away for a bit, only to learn of another big accouncement — Adam Curry, “the PodFather”, launched the Podsafe Music Network in PodShow on Friday.
Calling all musicians — this is huge. Submit your music immediately!
Basically, the network is a library of “podsafe music” (i.e. music allowed to be downloaded freely and/or used in podcasts) submitted by independent bands, and used by podcasters everywhere. The network is only in beta, but is being backed an plugged by Adam Curry, so it’s probably exploding as I write.
Even better, the library includes a 1-5 star rating system for individual songs, as well as a tracking system that tells artists how many times their work has been played.
Less than 800 songs exist in the library so far. Get your music up there NOW…ya never know who’ll pick it up.
(thanks to Ryan at Droxy for the tip)

I visited the site, which was new to me, thanks. A nice collection of release news and reviews for independent music. Very cool.
Hi
Please feel free to download and use any of COMEG’s material (all 5 albums) to play on your podcasts. The music will be available for free download from this weekend. Please also tell all your podcasting friends to also feel free to help themselves. Please also feel free to use any of the images on the site.
The website address is http://www.comeg.org
Kind regards

this makes sense (especially for it to come from Curry)- the need for systems to rate “long-tail” content. Ever heard of pitchforkmedia.com?
