MySpaces, An Awesome Place to Promote Music

MySpace Exploding With Music LoversMySpace is a social networking Web site offering tools allowing anyone to post personal info, photos, blogs, message boards, music (up to 4 tracks) and video they’ve created.

It’s been hugely successful, partly because it offers so many great free tools, and partly because it focuses on a community of music lovers and musicians. Steve Rosenbush at BusinessWeek discusses MySpace’s enormous growth, pointing to acts such as Beck, the Black-Eyed Peas, and ex-Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan, as big names that have taken advantage of the network.

It’s definitely worth checking out, and diving in.

Speaking of music promotion, here’s an ugly, long list of music promotion sites and articles. Enter at your own risk.

Yes, for anyone that was wondering, I spelled MySpace incorrectly in the title of this post. It’s MySpace, not MySpaces. I’ve decided to leave the mistake to prove what a non-perfectionist I am. (Of course, just the fact that I’m mentioning it defeats that purpose…)
